Solely for the purposes of this page, the two pertinent registers, extending from 63 (or 1770 for deaths), will be referred to respectively as Register A and Register B to avoid repetition.
Their place of origin was Kehl, Ortenaukreis, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, of which the Evangelical church registers for the relevant period contain a mixture of events occurring in the main parish of Dorf Kehl and in the Christuskirche in Kehl-Sundheim. We suggest that the Georg Schütterlin who travelled on the same voyage as Andreas was his uterine half-brother of that name (see below). We are now able to correct Anna Maria’s surname, long believed to have been Schüler based on the Patrey family bible (see transcription following the main text).
